The profile of the DP:

The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is for students aged 16-18 years old that will correspond with our Grades 11-12. The DP is an academically challenging and balanced programme of education, with final examination, that prepares students for success at universities and in life beyond.

The programme has gained recognition and respect from the world’s leading universities, consisting of six subject groups that can be taken at either a higher level, requiring a minimum of 240 hours of instructions or a standard level, requiring a minimum of 150 hours of instructions – both of which are followed by end of programme assessments marked by external examiners.

Additionally, the DP features three core elements that broaden student’s educational experience and challenge them to apply their knowledge and skill: A 4,000 word Extended Essay, requiring students to engage in independent research though and in-depth study; Theory of Knowledge, which develops a coherent approach to learning that unifies the academic disciplines; and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), which emphasis helping students to develop their own identities in accordance with ethical principles.

The DP is also widely recognized as the top university preparatory programme in the world. At-Tamimi International School is a candidate school for DP and is seeking for authorisation.
